HILLSBOROUGH COMMUNITY GIFT CERTIFICATES

The Community Gift Certificates are available for sale in $10 and $25 dollar increments at the following locations: TD Bank North, Sovereign Bank, Ocean National Bank, Lake Sunapee Bank & the Hillsborough Chamber of Commerce. Friends of the Hillsborough Food Pantry

The Friends of the Hillsborough Food Pantry have undertaken to raise $100,000 to rebuild the Hillsborough Food Pantry. Various groups and people are holding fundraisers throughout the area to help meet the lofty goal. Please support these projects and events. The Hillsborough Food Pantry Cookbook is available for sale. This cookbook features 200 recipes submitted by area residents and is filled with beautiful photos of the Hillsborough area. It is a great gift for that cook or special someone in your life. Treat yourself to one, too! All the proceeds go to the Food Pantry Reconstruction Project. Price is just $15.00. Cookbook Fundraiser

Dear Friends of the Hillsborough Food Pantry, The Friends of the Hillsborough Food Pantry have cooked up a fundraiser. A cookbook comprised of 200 recipes from local residents is on sale now with the proceeds to benefit the Hillsborough Food Pantry Reconstruction Project. Cost is $15 each and can be purchased at various businesses throughout the area and at the Hillsborough Chamber of Commerce at 25 School St. on Tues., Wed., Thurs. from 9am to 3pm. Call 464.5858


Hillsborough Balloon Festival & Fair

Hot Air Balloon lift offs at 6am & 6pm (weather permitting Fri. evening to Sun. morning), Live music, 5K Road Race, Parade, Carnival, 4 wheeler mud bogs, Fireworks Saturday night & an Old Fashioned Firemen's Muster on Sunday afternoon. On Saturday, July 18 you are invited to come & celebrate the start of the Food Pantry Reconstruction Project. After 17 months of fundraising, the Friends of the Hillsborough Food Pantry have raised $100,000+ to rebuild the food pantry building. July 18 marks the beginning of the construction phase. Art and Craft Demonstrations by Hillsborough Area Artisans

The Hillsborough Area Artisans are a group of artists and crafts people that represent just a sampling of the wealth of talent and creativity found in the Hillsborough, NH area. HAA is based in Hillsborough, but also draws artisans from surrounding communities. It was founded in 2003 by two local artisans who wanted to draw people to their growing artisan community. During this Demonstration day you can watch how the artists work.


Living History Event 2009

Venue: At 6 locations throughout Hillsborough

Experience the life of a New Englander in the 1700's, 1800's & early 1900's. Interact with period artisans, musicians, reenactors, historical figures, dancers, crafters & more. Sample mouth-watering traditional foods. Ride a trolley. Participate in children's activities. Join in on an interactive living history event depicting the unique history of the Hillsborough area. Venture on a trip throughout the area and discover historic villages, museums, President Franklin Pierce's homestead, historic buildings, scenic drives and 5 stone arch bridges. Fun for the entire family! Admission: Adults ($10), Seniors 65+ ($8), Childred 6-17 yrs ($5) and Children 5 & under are FREE. Special event privileges for those dressed in 1800's period costumes.

Book Fair - Meet the Authors

Hillsborough Area Artisans Fall Studio Tour
Date(s): Saturday, 19 September 2009 - Sunday, 20 September 2009
Venue: Hillsborough Area

This is a great way to spend the weekend experiencing some of New Hampshire's most beautiful countryside, visiting with the artisans and learning their creative process. You drive from studio to studio at your leisure and all the studios are within a 20 mile radius of the downtown area. Many of the artist will be demonstrating their craft.

The hours of the studio tour on Saturday and Sunday are 10am -5pm

Reception and Preview Party at The Well Sweep Gallery in Historic Hillsborough Center, Friday, September 18th from 6 to 8pm.


7th Annual Schnitzelfest

11am to 5:00pm in downtown Hillsborough. Under the tents….rain or shine! Enjoy the most authentic German food you'll experience outside Germany: Schnitzel (breaded or grilled), Bratwurst, Wieners, Homemade German Potato Salad, Rotkohl & Sauerkraut, Breads, Desserts, Beer & Wine.
