Know Your Board Members
Meg Curtis of Stonewall Farm Bed & Breakfast joined the Chamber's Board of Directors in 2003 & currently serves on the Executive Board. Meg's roots originally began in the suburbs of Rochester, N.Y. She and her husband, Skip have been married for 35 years and raised a daughter and twin sons in Westboro, Mass. and have 2 grandsons, Connor & Karl. Eighteen years ago, they purchased a vacation home in Washington, N.H. Meg and Skip decided that it was time for a change of pace so they made the giant move from the suburbs to the country. They soon decided to pursue their dream of owning a property suitable for inn keeping. In 1997, they purchased Stonewall Farm on Windsor Road. It has continued to be a "work in progress." Meg was able to pursue her love of people, decorating, cooking, and entertaining all within her job description of inn keeping. The B&B has received many accolades since it's inception: 1999 Editor's Pick, Yankee Magazine; 2003, 2004, 2005 & 2006 Arrington's B&B Journal awards of "Best in the North", "Friendliest Staff", & "Best Breakfast in New England". Meg has served on the Board of Directors for New Hampshire Lodging and Restaurant Association and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Hillsborough Lions Club. Meg also works for Coldwell Banker Coulters Realty in the Hillsboro Office as a real estate agent and is a member of the 2004 Coldwell Banker Sterling Society (top agent in the Hillsborough Office in 2004).
Marc Violette joined Hillsborough's Chamber Board in 1999. He is a the President of the Warner Business Association and he serves on the Board of Directors of the NH Telephone Association and the Telephone Association of New England. Marc is the General Manager for TDS Telecom/Merrimack County Telephone.
Lou Ann Rousseau of The Masiello Group Real Estate, is no stranger to the Chamber. Lou Ann previously served on the board and was reelected to the Board of Directors in 2005 and serves on the Executive Committee. Lou Ann is a life-long resident of Hillsboro and began her real estate career in 1990. She went out on her own in October 2002, opening an office in Henniker and then moved her operations to Hillsboro later that same year. She purchased the property formerly known as Duggan's Realty, the very same place she started her real estate career-small world!
Jim Bailey started James C. Bailey, III Home Improvements in 1987 and has been in the carpentry business for over 30 years. He and his wife, Adrienne and their four children have lived in Hillsborough for 22 years. He is an active community volunteer, currently serving the community through Lions Club, HYAA, Hillsborough Park Board and the Hillsborough Civic Organization. Jim has served on the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors since 1994.
Dr. Barbara Baker was recently elected to serve on the Board of Directors. Dr. Baker moved to the Hillsborough area in 2003 to serve as the Superintendent of SAU #34 (Hillsboro-Deering, Washington and Windsor school districts). Prior to taking the superintendent's position, Dr. Baker held the position of Associate Dean of Education at the Metropolitan State College of Denver from 1997-2003. While there she supervised, administered and provided leadership for seven teacher education programs within the School of Professional Studies, promoted curricular revisions for all program areas with the additional approval of a Special Education major, and actively promoted and engaged in partnership activities with area school districts and educational agencies. She worked within the Denver Public Schools as an elementary principal for 10 years from 1987-1997. Baker received her Bachelors Degree in Special Education and M.Ed. in Special Education and Administration at Oklahoma University. She completed her Ph.D. in Educational Administration at the University of Denver. Dr. Baker began her teaching career as a Special Education teacher at the Crooked Oak Junior High School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, moving on to positions as a teacher, Assistant Principal and Principal in Norman, Oklahoma with the Robin Hill School District #16. Dr. Baker has also served as the Director of Teacher Education at Loretto Heights College in Denver, Colorado.
Alice Roberts from Hillsboro Ford,is originally from Dover NH & moved to the Hillsboro area in 1996 when she & Dennis took over the Ford dealership, then Clifford Ford. Alice has 15 years in the automotive business and enjoys every aspect of it. She is happy to have found and lived in our close-knit community. The Roberts have appreciated the opportunity to do business in Hillsboro and the surrounding communities, and theyre striving to create a family style work place here. So what does Alice do when shes not working dawn til dusk? Her passion is cooking and she has even attended Johnson & Whales Culinary School. Who knew?
Bill Shee, owner of William Shee, CPA, moved to New Hampshire with his wife, Nancy in 1979 to escape the corporate rat race in Connecticut. Bill has been a practicing CPA focusing primarily on personal and business tax. Bill is no stranger to the Hillsborough Chamber of Commerce, having served on the Board of Directors for many years starting in 1981 as Treasurer. Bill stepped down from the Board in the late 1990s. Now, for some reason even HE doesn't fully understand, Bill is back on the Board once again!
